1928 – 2019

On Sunday,  October 20, 2019 after a fun-filled Halloween party at Fairmount Home, Ellis died peacefully in his sleep.  He is survived by his wife Grace, children John (Barb), Al (Sandra), Mary Lou Sitoski (Rob LeClair), Jim, Shari (Bill Lake), Tom and daughter-in-law Wendy.  He will be remembered by step-children Brien Caird (Jan), Marita (Kevin Dishart) and Cheryl (Les Lake).

He will be missed by his 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren and a very large extended family.  Ellis is pre-deceased by his first wife Betty, son Bill and step-son David Caird.

The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmount Home for making his final days happy and memorable.  A special thank you to his “babysitter” Cassie, for her love and compassion.

Visitation for Ellis will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Inverary United Church, followed by a service and interment at Sandhill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, as per Ellis’s wishes donations may be made to the Inverary United Church the  Salvation Army or Fairmount Home in memory of  Ellis would be greatly appreciated by the family.
