MYERS, LEO JAMES

December 15, 1933 – December 16, 2017

3rd Degree Knight of Columbus – St. Patrick’s Church (Railton)

Leo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, December 16, 2017.  Beloved husband of Jean, devoted  and loving father of daughters, Gina  Morey, (Jan) Colleen Myers-Hickey, Mary Anne  Myers-McFadden (John), and son, Jamie Myers (Robyn).  Loving grandfather to Tyson (Sara Rushton), Danielle, Adrienne (Adam Moke), Sarah, Samantha, Keira, Keely, Jack, Max, Reid and great granddaughter Amelia. 

Leo was born in Kingston.  In his early years, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and was stationed in Shearwater, Nova Scotia.  Upon discharge, he worked at TransCanada Pipeline and DuPont prior to fulfilling his dream to purchase a dairy farm.  In 1965, Leo purchased his dairy farm where he and his wife, Jean, raised their family. 

Survived by his sisters Pauline Masotti (the late Dr. Ron Masotti) and Mary Gray (Bill Gray).  Predeceased by his siblings, Theresa Pelow (Bill), Francis (Margaret), John (Bette), Eileen Sutton (Jack), Margaret Beneteau (Benny). Leo will always be remembered by his many nieces, nephews other family and friends.

Leo was devoted to his family and was a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather and good friend to many and will be sadly missed.

Family and friends will be received at the TROUSDALE FUNERAL HOME, in Sydenham, on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 between the hours of 1-3 and 6-8, to remember and celebrate his life.  Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 21, at 11:00 o’clock at ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, followed by cremation.  Reception at St. Patrick’s Parish Centre, following the service. In memory of Leo, donations can be made to St. Patrick’s Church in Railton, or the Southern Frontenac Community Services - Foodbank.
