Daryl Condie Obituary

IRVINE CONDIE,
(Helen) Daryl
1932 - 2020

Daryl Irvine Condie died peacefully Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Waterford Retirement Residence in Kingston, Ontario.

Daryl was born in Toronto, where she lived most of her life. Her piano studies, performance career and Royal Conservatory of Music piano examiner work took her to various parts of the world. She also taught piano. In later years she and her husband, Gordon Condie, moved to the Wilton area, near Kingston, where they enjoyed their life in the country. In her retirement Daryl learned to play the violin, eventually playing with the Kingston Community Strings. Since Gord's death in 2017, she had lived at the Waterford.

Daryl was predeceased by her father, John Arthur Irvine, her mother, Lillian Mabel Irvine (née Hilton), her sister Ola Finlay, brothers-in-law Sam Finlay and Ron Hughes, and her husband Gord. She is survived by her sister, Maryl Hughes, and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nursing staff at the Waterford for their care and comfort of Daryl in her last days.

There will be a private burial at Picadilly Cemetery. Daryl loved nature and gardening. If you wish to make a gesture in her memory, making a donation to an Ontario nature conservation group or planting a new plant in your garden would have made her happy.
