Obituary

 

With great sadness, we announce the passing of  Doris Helen Frances Ritchie, in her 88th year on May 19, 2022.  Doris passed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of 72 years to Donald, loving mother of Jocelyn Young (Bernie), Andrew (Lisa) and Stanley (Ellie), grandmother of seven, great grandmother of ten, great, great grandmother of three. She is survived by sisters Juanita Corrigan (Leo), June Leslie-Easter, Gail Sigsworth and sisters-in-law Margareta and Theresa Reynolds. Predeceased by parents Garnet and Estella Reynolds (Percy), brothers Percy, Calvin, Neil, sisters Louise (Meeks), Laura (Irwin), brothers-in-law Earl Meeks, Don Irwin, David Leslie, Bill Easter, Danny Sigswoth, Glen and Vincent Ritchie, sisters-in-law Alice Reynolds and Muriel Ritchie and infant great grandchild Hayden Ritchie.  Doris will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, church family at Verona Gospel Assembly and the Bell Rock community, where she resided all her life. The family wishes to thank all the helpful staff at Kingston Health Science Centre, Verona Medical Centre and South Frontenac Community Services (Joanne and Jack). Donations are being accepted for the Verona Gospel Assembly. Graveside ceremony at Verona Cemetery, Thursday  May 26, 2022 at 12 noon.  All are welcome.
