Elizabeth Bruce

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Bruce announce her passing on Monday

November 11,2024 at Providence Care Hospice in Kingston. Liz was born on May 12, 1937 and

is predeceased by her parents Fred and Robie Baird of Sheet Harbour Nova Scotia, her

husband Bill (2007) and her brother John, late of PEI in 2022. She is survived by her children

Pattie Logan(John), Cindy Lowery (Paul) and Bill Bruce (Jenny D’Addario). Mom will be dearly

missed by her grandchildren Sarah (Jordy), Angie (Steve)and Jason (Jessica)who called her

Nanny, as did many of their friends.

Liz was also Nanny the Great to her 5 great grandchildren, Jack, Ava, Gwen, Landon and

Peyton. Liz is also survived by her sister in law Jean Baird and former sister in law Fern Smythe

and cousins Otie Dunn (Deanna) and Debbie Josey (Paul) of Nova Scotia. Also nieces and

nephews.

Many thanks for all your phone calls and visits, especially to her best friend Helen and nieces

Brenda and Cathy and friend Putty. Our family appreciates all the support received from

community organizations and her medical teams in Verona and Kingston.

In her lifetime Mom loved to knit and crochet, quilt and rug hook. She was a faithful active

member of St. Paul’s United church and volunteered in Guiding for over 25 years.

She was known for her potato salad, apple pie, carrot cake and clam chowder.

Lizzie, you were one of a kind, a strong woman who loved her family and her friends and we will

miss you terribly…until we meet again Mom.

Donations in memory of Liz can be made to the Girl Guides of Canada or Providence Care

hospital hospice program.

Visitation at Trousdale’s funeral home in Sydenham on Friday November 15 from 2-5 pm and

Saturday at 10 until the funeral service at 11 am. Interment to follow at Harrowsmith cemetery

with lunch to follow at the Golden Links Hall.
