Elizabeth Van Wyngaarden Obituary

Passed away at Lakeshore Hospital in Montreal on Saturday, Feb. 29 after a battle with melanoma. Beloved wife of Khamis Al Ghalayini, who was by her side. Pre-deceased by her parents Huibert G. O. and Neeltje E. "Betsy" (nee Soeting) Van Wyngaarden. Cherished sister to Gerald (Liz Crawford), Wilma, David and Lawrence (Lindsey Foster) Van Wyngaarden. She will be deeply missed, too, by her Al Ghalayini family Ghaleb and Assoum, Maha (Ayman), Khaldoun (Heba) and their children Jude, Tala, Sammy, Hadi and Lina; her nieces and nephew Lieneka, Jenny, Jordan and Crawford; her good friends Sarah, Nancy, and Lyne and Heratch; and many family members and friends in Montreal (dear Amto Hyam and her family), Kingston, the Netherlands and the Middle East.

Liz worked hard, travelled widely, rode horses, loved to cook and make pies, and knew true love.

A private family interment has taken place at Opinicon Cemetery. We carry her with us in our hearts.
