Peacefully at home in his sleep on Thursday September 6th at the age of 79. Cherished husband of Joanne Irvine for 30 years. Loved father of Tania and Trina and husband Scott Mooney. Dear brother of Jaan (and wife Beth) and Rolf. Dear cousin of Linda Koster. Ed was born on Kihnu Island, Estonia and is pre-deceased by both his parents. Ed was loved by his brother in-law Marc Irvine and his wife Gisele Charest, his sister in-law Michele Irvine, his sister in law Judy Irvine and her partner Luc Gamelin as well as by all his many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Ed began his 39 year career with DuPont in the Kingston research laboratory. He was transferred to head office in Toronto and promoted to a sales representative in the Packaging division of DuPont Canada. Later in his career, he traveled all over the world selling packaging materials to other countries.
Ed loved spending time at the family cottage that he designed and built himself. He enjoyed doing the never ending cottage upkeep and sailing his Mirror Dinghy on the pristine waters of Knowlton lake.
For the last 17 years of his life, Ed lived graciously and courageously with Parkinson's Disease. Although the disease slowly took control of his body and clouded his mind it could not take away his indomitable spirit We will miss his strength and determination and the positive energy that he put out in the world.
