Steacy C.Ss.R., Fr. William (Bill) McLellan was called to Lord on February 25, 2026. He was born in Kingston, Ontario on March 21, 1941 to the late William and Mary (nee McLellan). Brother of Leona Steacy, the late Jack Steacy, and Bob (Lynn Bird) Steacy. Fr. Bill entered the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (The Redemptorists) in 1960, and was ordained a priest in 1967. Over the years Fr. Bill served in St. Patrick’s, Toronto, St. Patrick’s, Quebec City, St. Stephen’s in Sillery, St. Patrick’s High School in Quebec City, Our Lady of the Assumption in Toronto, and St. Alphonsus in Windsor. He served as reserve chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces, before returning as pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Quebec City. In the years that followed, Fr. Bill served in prison chaplaincy, particularly at Millhaven Penitentiary in Kingston, as well as at Joyceville Medium Security. Following his service in prison chaplaincy, Fr. Bill served at St. Patrick’s, Railton and St. Mary’s Odessa until his retirement in 2022. The Redemptorists and the family are grateful for the service of Fr.
