Born in Peterborough, Ontario, on January 12, 1947, Bob Kirkwood studied engineering at Ryerson University, and spent most of his career at Northern Telecom and Bosal Canada in Kingston, Ontario.

An integral member of the Kingston community, Bob Kirkwood volunteered with many organizations, most notably assisting in the formation of the Greater Kingston Hockey Association’s AAA level program, for which he coached and mentored players for many, many years. He also volunteered his coaching and team management skills for the Kingston Kodiaks Hockey Association, Kingston Township Soccer, and most recently as a volunteer organizer for the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day ceremonies, and ‘Bob’s Breakfast’ as provided by Inverary United Church.

An avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, Bob enjoyed every opportunity to be out on his boat on Sydenham and Loughborough Lake, with evenings spent playing his guitar, or making family memories around the bonfire.

A devoted father, husband, brother, and friend, he will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege to share in his remarkable life.

An open visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Trousdale Funeral Home, located at 4374 Sydenham Mill, in Sydenham, Ontario.
