Louisa Votary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Louisa “Louise” Margaret Votary (nee Adams), daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Adams, sister of the late Marjorie Gibbons (Lindsay) and the late Henry Adams (Pauline). Louise passed away peacefully September 25th, 2023, at Kentwood Park, Picton ON, in her 93rd year.

Louise has joined her husband of 72 years, the late William Francis Votary. Mother to Randy Votary (Sandra), Judy Buckley (Dan), and Richard Votary. Beloved Grandmother of Brendan Buckley (Melissa), Kristin Buckley, Jonathan Buckley, Marty Votary, Garett Gruhl (Haley), Mae Pattemore (Phil), Jemmah-Dawn Cotnam (Nick), Charity-Mae Catry (Sam), and Breanna Votary. Louise was Great-Grandmother to 11 great grandchildren.

Louise was a sweet and gentle soul with a quiet and good-natured personality (along with a good dose of spunk!). She always had a warm smile on her face and an encouraging word that stemmed from her faith. She often reminded others that prayer changes things and had a comforting scripture to share. Louise also had an immense love of music, especially playing the organ, which included hymns and whatever “little ditty” she picked up by ear. She was always concerned for the well-being of her family, all of whom equally adored her, and was especially treasured by her husband Bill.

Family would like to thank the Kentwood Park staff for their excellent care they provided to Louise in her final years.

A wake will be held Sunday, October 1st, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm and a funeral to follow Monday October 2nd, 2023, from 11am to 12pm at Trousdale Funeral Home, 4374 Mill Street, Sydenham ON, K0H 2T0.
