Luella Joan Thompson (nee Banks)

February 11, 1934 – October 13, 2023

Joan passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital Friday, October 13, 2023, in her 90th year.

Predeceased by her first husband Harry, second husband Tedd and her parents Mable and Thomas.

Survived by her son Terry (Lorraine), grandson Dennis, granddaughter Tara (Jordan) and five great grandchildren Olivea, Hayleigh, Hayden, Ellie, and Claira.

Joan loved family, friends, animals, music and especially dancing. She even danced once with Lawrence Welk. She believed in rescuing animals in need and had quite a connection with a raccoon she lovingly named Brandy.

Wake will be Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 11-1 at Scotland Funeral Home in Elgin followed by a graveside service at Halladay Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Sandy Pines Wildlife Center in Joan’s memory.
