Marie Ross

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marie Louise Ross, age 73, on October 4th, 2024, at Providence Care in Kingston, Ontario.

Marie’s boundless energy and loving spirit touched every life around her. Even through her brave battle with cancer, she was determined to live fully. A traveler and a natural maker, she perfected every detail and created beauty in everything she touched. Quietly and unassumingly, she would help others in their times of need, offering support and kindness without seeking recognition. Her strength and grace guided her family and inspired all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband, Cecil, beloved daughter Emily Ross, and son-in-law Mike Ertl. Predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Gladys Wilson (nee Henderson).

She will be deeply missed by her siblings: Roger and Howard Wilson of Harrowsmith, Joan Wilson of Amherstview, Elaine Wilson of Elginburg (John, decd.), Jane Wilson of Whitehorse (Brian), Norma Barnard of Wilton (Wayne, decd.), Helen Hill of Harrowsmith (Jim), John Wilson of Camden East (Trudy), and her aunt Ruth Steinfort of Elginburg.

Marie was cherished by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family, who admired her as a loving and steady presence.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the caring teams at Providence Care, KGH Cancer Center, and Cataraqui Heights for their support.

Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to Kingston University Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

A wake will be held at St.Paul’s Anglican Church, 4336 Mill Street in Sydenham, on October 19th, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:30AM, followed by the service at 11:45AM. Interment at Sydenham Cemetery thereafter.
