Mary Collins

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Selena Collins announce her passing on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Kingston General Hospital. Mary was born December 31, 1936.  She came from a broad family of brothers and sisters - Joyce, Floyd, Lynda Gail, Geraldine and Evelyn, Mitch, Lilian, Laura and Grace.  She is sadly missed by our whole family including granddaughter Rebecca (Sheldon) and great grandsons Logan and Alex.  Mary is predeceased by husband Carl, daughter Pam and son Michael.

Mary was a strong advocate for mental health in our community and was a leader with the Schizophrenia Society serving as president for many years.  Her influence and efforts continue to be felt by those who suffer from mental health issues.

Many thanks to the incredible staff of KGH.  Your kindness and professionalism brought joy to Mary’s life.

Mary will be remembered with funeral services at Trousdale’s Funeral Home in Sydenham, Ontario on Saturday, November 30 with visitation starting at 1 pm and a service to follow at 2 pm with Oscar Simpson officiating.
