Michael McBride Obituary

"Michael Thomas McBride

March 12 1961 - May 31 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mike at Kingston General Hospital on Saturday, May 31st 2025 surrounded by his loving wife and son. Mike was 64 years old. Mike leaves behind his wife Judy, son Derek, niece Kaity (Josh), brother-in-law Brian (Denise) and loyal best friend and companion Hershey (chocolate lab).

Mike was born March 12 1961 in Scarborough, Ontario to parents Wilma and Bill McBride (deceased).

Mike completed all of his formal education in Scarborough, Ontario. He was employed as a Correctional Officer for 30 years at the Toronto East Detention Centre and Quinte Detention Centre.

Mike had many interests but his real passions included his family, his dog, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, "real" country music, antiques and collecting pretty much anything. Mike was very active in the collectibles market in Kingston and the area.

Mike was selective about the people in his life and loved them deeply.

Mike and Judy were married in May of 1994 and had a fantastic, love-filled relationship for 31 years and 10 days.

The pride and joy of Mike's life was his son, Derek, whom he quietly worshipped.

Mike will be forever loved, missed and remembered by his family and friends.

Friends and family will be received at Trousdale Funeral Home on Thursday June 12, 2025 from 11A.M. – 1 P.M.

In Mike's memory, donations to the Kingston Humane Society would be greatly appreciated."
