Norma Jean Dowker

NORMA JEAN DOWKER (nee Gerow)     

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Jean Dowker (nee Gerow), at Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Monday, March 16th, 2020, one week prior to her 91st birthday.  Daughter of the late Percy and Jessie Gerow.  Devoted wife of the late Leland Dowker (deceased 2009).  Devoted mother of Linda Shane (David), Gary (deceased 1958) and Barb Bowes (Joey).  Proud grandmother of Michael Shane (Elizabeth), Tammy Shane (Rob), Ryan Bowes (Melanie), and Chris Bowes (Shannon).  Treasured GG to Trinity and Avery Shane; Paige and Ellis Bowes; Carter and Emmy Bowes; and Henry Rowe.  Step-Great-Grandmother to Jessie and A.J. Rowe.  Predeceased by her twin sister, Lorna Stinson (Fenwick) and brother, Raymond Gerow.  She will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, friends at Trinity United Church (Verona), her many card-playing and shuffleboard friends.  We would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at Kingston Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion that was exceptional during her short stay.  Due to the present circumstances, a private family graveside burial service has been held.  A donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Southern Frontenac Community Services in Norma’s memory.  A celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be advised.
