Pearl Lorraine Lobb - “Lorraine”
January 3, 1938 - February 14, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pearl Lorraine Lobb peacefully and supported by the love of her family at the A.B. Smith Homestead House in Kingston on February 14th 2026.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Dora and Phillip Burdett, and by her daughter, Heather Pelow. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Richard Lobb; her sisters, Donna Durnford and Susan (Rick) Martsch; and her sons, Daniel Heaney (Michele) and Mark Heaney (the late Anette Sortberg). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Beth (Tyler), Will (Missy), Joe (Tara), and Staci (Joe), and great-grandmother to Ellah, Ethan, Benjamin, Chloe, Theona, Arrietty, and Asher. Lorraine will also be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
Born in Hespeler, Lorraine later moved to the Kingston area, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University. She shared her talent and compassion through her work teaching at St. Lawrence College. Lorraine also worked with Southeast Asian refugee families as they began new lives in Canada. Lorraine believed deeply in self-sufficiency and dignity, and quietly supported many newcomers as they found their footing in a new country. Through her adventurous spirit she met her husband, Richard, through a shared interest in motorcycles. She was actively involved with the Grand Theatre, particularly in costume design and creation, and partly owned and operated Comfort Clothing in Kingston. Lorraine was a highly skilled seamstress who provided alterations and repairs for many in the communities of Sydenham and Kingston over the years.
Visitation will be held at Trousdale Funeral Home on Friday February 20, 2026 from the hours of 5 P.M. - 8 P.M.
The family will have a private ceremony and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory to A.B. Smith House Hospice would be appreciated.
