It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert William Gable, affectionately known as Bob, Papa, and “Man Mountain,” who passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 11, 2026, in Kingston, Ontario.
Bob was born on January 22, 1947, in Kingston, Ontario, and though he spent time in the city, his heart always belonged to Sharbot Lake, where he found peace in the woods and in nature. An avid outdoorsman, Bob had a deep love for hunting, fishing, camping, and wildlife. He felt most at home surrounded by the natural world.
Bob was also a devoted sports fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. Known for his sense of humor, he was always joking and teasing those he loved, bringing laughter and warmth to family and friends alike.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debbie Gable; his children, Charity Gable (Paul Sauve), Sean Gable (Leeann), and Sindy Gable; and his cherished grandchildren, Deserae, Sierra, and Taryn. He is also survived by his brothers, Greg Gable (Barb) and Tom Gable (Shirley), his niece Jessica, as well as his nieces Christina and Katie, and his nephew Steve.
Bob was predeceased by his mother, Helen Tryon and father Gord; his brother, John Gable; and his beloved daughter, Jocelyn Gable.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
