Bob passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday May 30, 2020. He was in his 77th year. Predeceased by his parents Karl and Mary (Hogan) Lake, Brother Jim, sisters in-law Mary Lake, Kathy Lake, Helen Burtch, Barb Scott, and brother in-law Douglas Burtch. Survived by his wife Marilyn, son Rob (Dawn) and daughter Beth. Fondly remembered by brother Bill Lake, sister Francelia (Dave) Gibson, brothers in-law Gordon (Gail) Burtch, Keith (Darlene)Burtch, Grant Burtch, Darryl Burtch (Tammy)and Jerry Thompson, sisters in-law Katherine Burtch, Donna Thompson (Kevin) and Susan (Steven) Dowdall. Dear grandfather of Matt (Katherine), Josh, Dillon (Chris), Ryan and great grandfather of Jersey, Lukas, Eva and Nevada. Bob will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially by his sidekick David.

Bob became a plumber apprentice in 1962 and became a master plumber in 1967. Bob retired from plumbing in 2019 after 52 years. Bob played hockey for the Battersea Swampers. He coached hockey in the Church Athletic league, and coached and played softball and lob ball. He had a passion for farming. Bob will be remembered by many for his contagious smile.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to nurse’s Jacqui and Amanda for their kindness and compassion, the personal support workers that provided excellent care all from St. Elizabeth and the Drs. from the palliative care team at Kingston Health Sciences Centre.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a gathering of family and friends in memory of Bob is not possible at this time. The family will host a celebration of Bob’s life at a later date.
