Dr. Robert John McCaldon of Lower Holleford died peacefully March 3, 2021 in his 85th year. Husband of the late Jane Elizabeth McCaldon; son of Robert and Ruby McCaldon of St. Catharines; brother of David McCaldon (Lynn) of Burlington. Father of Kian (Marilyne) and Morna Graf (Murray). Grandfather of Alexander McCaldon (Bethany); Logan Graf; and Verity Graf (Logan Knapp). Robert was a psychiatrist retired from both private practice and the prison system. An avid athlete, he competed in the K-Town triathlon for 25 consecutive years. He competed in international shooting competitions for many years, and was a Canadian National Champion in an Olympic sport. He spent much of his time in the outdoors, and hunted and fished throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed classical music, reading and writing novels, and a good meal. Thank you to all the private home care workers, and the staff at KGH for their care and support. Visitation will be at Trousdale Funeral Home in Sydenham, Saturday March 13, between the hours of 2 – 4 pm. COVID restrictions will be in place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made (by cheque only) to Ducks Unlimited or Heart and Stroke Foundation
