Roderick Joseph O'Neill

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rod “Roddy” O’Neill announce his passing on March 5, 2026, at the age of 66.

Roddy was the beloved father of son Joe, mother Lynn, and daughters Shelley (Chris) and Shyanne (Wil), mother Joanne. He was the most proud and devoted Papa to ten grandchildren: Sarah, Emma, Peyton, Jacob, Hunter, Ryder, Dominick, Walker, RemiLynn, and a soon-to-arrive grandson who will carry his legacy forward.

He was predeceased by his parents, Myrna (Welch) and Gerald O’Neill. As the oldest of three children, Roddy carried a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty to family throughout his life.

Roddy spent his life behind the wheel of a truck, from long-haul routes to tri-axle driving, dedicating decades to the work he knew and loved. When he wasn’t on the road, he could often be found doing the things that brought him joy: camping, helping someone with a project, or spending time with the people he loved most. Weekends often meant polishing his truck until it shined and settling in to watch NASCAR on Sundays.

Known for his humor, patience, and big heart, Roddy was generous to a fault and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Above all else, he lived for his children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world.

Roddy’s family will forever cherish the time they were blessed to share with him. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will remain in their hearts, and he will be deeply missed every day.

A private funeral will be held for the immediate family at a later date. Details for a Celebration of Life will be announced in the future.

His road may have ended, but the love he gave will travel on through his family.
